11:30-1:45Option 1: For U5 and U6 coaches, there will be a special training session just for coaches of the very young soccer players. This is the first year that ASYO is requiring all U6 coaches to be certified in their age division (next year, U8 will be added to that requirement). Barry Grumbine, an AYSO certified coach instructor, will teach the class. Bring a ball, sun screen, water, pencil, paper.
Option 2: Lunch and the first game of the US men's national soccer team in the world cup. The US team plays England, one of the favorites to win the cup. Alan Meeder will provide commentary on the play.
2:00-4:00Field training for U5-U8. Alan Meeder will show you how to motivate players in this age group, characterized by a short attention span, to develop their soccer skills using simple but fun games. Having played soccer before is the least important preparation for a coach in this age group. Bring a ball, sun screen, water, pencil, paper.

Distribute rosters and bags to all U5-U8 coaches who (1) have completed the volunteer form and (2) done safe haven training. NOTE: If you completed training in this age group, bring your license or a copy so we can record your certification. Thanks.
